Unbelievable Gossiping While The Brain Is Open

Every time I see Grey's Anatomy surgeons gossiping during an operation my heart starts booming, because I am afraid that every second there can happen a disaster. So it was yesterday when Mark Sloan and Derek Shepherd, with scalpels in their hands and an opened brain in front of them, were discussing their private problems as usual. I was really angry with them.
Of course, I understand that an operation is nothing special for experienced doctors - as professionals they do this every day. But I don't believe this kind of behavior is true in real life. You can be the most professional surgeon in the world, but it doesn't cancel the necessity to concentrate on your work.
